Updated Content

I’m updating content on some of my previous posts and thought I would share those fresh ideas with you.

First is a new resource I’m adding to the blog post ‘Choosing Colors - My Pearls’.

Stitch Palettes

Stitch Palettes

Stitch Palettes falls under the category of Color Inspiration, but with added bonuses. The palettes are isolated from photos and then matched to DMC embroidery thread colors.  There is a new color palette released daily.  Like Design Seeds, you can search by color, by season (ex. Spring), by scheme (ex. pastel), or by theme (ex. floral).  But lest you think this is only for embroidery, oh no!

Not only does Krisztina provide the DMC floss matches, but she also converts to DMC Tapestry Wool and Anchor Stranded Cotten.

She also provides the HEX, RGB, and CMYK color codes.

And just in case the palette is not exactly what you had in mind, there are suggestions for similar palettes that share the same colors.

By the way, I found this wonderful color site from a blog I regularly follow and thoroughly enjoy, Mary Corbet’s Needle ‘n Thread. You should really check it out.

Flora & Fiber

Next is an update to the post ‘Alpaca Fleece . . . Now What?’. I wrote an Instructable which is an online collection of how to step-by-step craft projects.

My Instructable takes information not only from the blog post that I mentioned above, but also from several other posts that I’ve written about the prepping, spinning, dyeing, weaving, and knitting with alpaca. I’ve gathered that information into a step-by-step and published the Instructable ‘Alpaca Fleece . . . Now What?’.

Here are the related Alpaca blog posts:

krokbragd

Next are two krokbragd online resources.

The first is Angie Parker Textiles. Her krokbragd work is fresh and exquisitely done. Well worth a visit to her site! Here is the link to her gallery page.

Many of you will already know the second recommendation, but just in case, Kelly Casanova. Kelly describers herself as a weaver, teacher, and maker . . . . and that she is! She has a wealth of krokbragd information, tutorials, and projects on her blog, YouTube channel, and online Weaving School.

gnome

Finally, I couldn’t end without a snippet about my newest little gnome. This is Gnisse. She has taken her tiny colorwork sweater off as it’s a warm Spring day. But on brisk gnights, as in the title photo, when the gnew Blue Moon rises, Gnisse enjoys romping in the fresh snow with her favorite sheep Gnut, an Old GNorwegian breed. Gnut provides wonderful fleece to gnit Gnisse’s toasty sweaters and caps!

Be well!
